Poster: A snowHead

Hi all - We have friends staying in Belle Plagne and are looking at staying ourselves in Peisey. The two resorts look very close - can anyone advise please how easy it is to get from one to the other and roughly how long it would take to ski? Thanks!

Hi. You can ski to belle Plagne via the Vanois Express. Depending on the standard of your skiing and how busy the lifts are it should take between 1 and 2 hours. You would need to buy a Paradski lift pass (or daily extension to the Les Arcs pass)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

chaigh, 2 different resorts linked by a big gondola. I would say 45 mins from Peisey to Belle Plagne including the gondola ride. Why not look to stay on La Plagne side to as if you want to meet on either side you have to buy the all area pass (Paradski pass). Personally I would want to stay in Belle Plagne before Pesiey.

thefatcontroller, i agree not more than 45 min max at hi season if you are an average skier, in low season or if you are fast it can be done in a lot less, 25 min. Coming back is even quicker. Only one lift and a rope tow, but you are better off in La Plagne as well if you want to be with your friends. You cannot get there in the evening without a long drive.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Never
If you're quick, pistes are empty and know the route (not that hard) and queue free lifts play ball (more time on lifts than skiing) then you could get to Plagne Centre in 40-45 minutes from getting off the Vanoise express. (that was my regular target time last season). Belle Plagne is one lift less and one run less so I'd agree with Snowcrazy's times as a good time, and add 50% it for pfaff and slowness should be pretty achievable, and another 50% if it's super busy...
Choice of lifts but easiest to follow is
Come off the vanoise express
Go straight ahead, follow signs to la plagne, take the Lac Noir Bubble, Ski down 200 yds to Bijolin, then down 3-400 yds to Salla. Over the ridge follow signs to belle plagne. Choose yer piste depending on which end of belle plagne you wish to end up in.

Fantastic - Thanks so much everyone! My husband and I are fairly speedy but in the afternoon with the kids in tow will work on the longer times or else try and rendezvous with our friends on the slopes between the two resorts. Thanks especially for the directions - will program straight into my sat nav ...eg hubby!
