Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Swedish ski resort reports temperature of -40.8C

In its weekly round-up of snow conditions and skiing around the resorts, PlanetSki.eu reports that the Swedish ski centre of Hemavan recorded a temperature of -40.8C last weekend:

http://www.planetski.eu/news/1242

Hemavan (which is new to me - any snowHead been there?) even has a website in English:

http://www.stromma.se/en/Hemavan/

This is where it is:

Hemavan: Google Maps

Interestingly, the resort says it's open from November to May, though it's pretty far north and must have very short daylight hours in the early winter.

Yes, Tremblant last January, -40c, cold, the piste was pretty empty though. Did make the rest of the holiday feel almost balmy between -10&-25. All the locals said it was freekish & that we should just go inside, 2 hours later we did. Kids still talk about it though, and they hardly complained as they couldn't or wouldn't be heard under the face mask (mandortory if you wanted to ski that day) Twisted Evil

Ricklovesthepowder, The coldest I've ever been was at Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side) a few years ago during February ! No idea what the actual temperature was but I could only tolerate being outside in the viewing area for a few minutes Shocked . The frozen ice on top of the water below the falls looked as if you could walk across it to the American side, although I wouldn't recommend trying it. Toofy Grin
