Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

If you are Bristol based, I'd suggest going to the Gloucester dry slope, and forget the extra time and expense of getting to a snow dome.

When you're leaning from scratch, it's the amount of time you can get on the slope that will have the greatest impact on your progress, not what you're actually skiing on. If you go as often as you can (say at least once a week) you'll make quick progress...

I went from total beginner, to parallel turning at the Gloucester dry slope in a couple of months, and then went on my first trip. Result, I was skiing reds on my first day, and did a black on my second day. Snow is different, but not so different that it will make you feel uncomfortable when you do hit the snow, and you get used to it pretty quickly.

The biggest difference is in you head! You think standing at the top of a UK dry / snow dome run is daunting. Wait until you get to a real piste!

Churchill's also good - more interesting slope once you've done the basics!
