Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiers stuck for hours in broken cable car on Brauneck mountain , Germany

A cable-car ski lift holding 43 people was stuck for more than 2 hours on the Brauneck mountain in southern Germany today. People travelling up the mountain in the lift's 4-person pods found themselves trapped in freezing temperatures, after the emergency brakes brought the system to a sudden halt. Those lower down were rescued by the fire brigade using ladders, or clambered down using ropes. Those trapped further up the mountain had to be rescued by helicopter. ...Source: http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/303331,skiers-stuck-on-ski-lift-for-several-hours-in-southern-germany.html

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

In a situation where everyone is OK, I wonder how they go about re-uniting folks with any ski gear left behind on the lift - it says some people skied down, but those rescued by ropes or helicoptor must have needed to leave gear on the lift. There could be a bit of a free for all without some means to prove stuff was yours.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Learnt to ski there - that's one nasty car to get stuck in........ (there's only one, all the rest are drags) ...it gets seriously high - goes up the mountain side, over a ridge and then all ground drops away until you've traversed a suprisingly deep valley.... you wouldnt want to be stuck over that bit !

Interesting this makes the news when these kind of things happen all the time. A chair broke down in les Arcs (I think) at the start of the season and more recently in the Vercors. Much chillier to be trapped on a chair than a nice cosy gondola lift. You could even put some of the suggestions on Natives.co.uk into practise to keep warm.
