Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski repair in Glasgow (or near there)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All.

I was at Glencoe and scored the bases of my new skis. No big deal dince thatis what they are there for. Using not Scoring. Happy

Anyway, After a few weeks more of this they will need some serious TLC. They are an expensive set so I'll want a good job done. I reckon a PT to fill in the rock gouges and a but of attention to the edge scrapes are required.

Most places seem to charge the same so can anyone recommend a good ski tech in Scotland. Ideally they will be near Glasgow or Edinburgh area.

However, I dont even mind heading to near a ski centre eg Glencoe, Nevis, Glenshee, or Aviemore. Skiing a day Happy dropping them off then getting them in a couple of weeks.
My first thoughts were Ellis Brigham at Xscape or Ski'n'Boardroom in Partick. Anyone got a faviourite place to get them attended to?

Cheers
Bob

Can't really recommend anyone in particular but have used Glasgow Ski Centre in past and have been happy with them. Have also used Nevisport and they too have been good. Tend to do myself thesedays as my neighbour has all the necessary

I haven't had a base repair Ski'n'Boardroom, just a service, but I don't think I would trust them to do a good job after the service I had done to some of my skis (cheap, probably worth the money but not great).

Hi Arv.

I had reservations about them which is why I was asking the Q? Seems like my fears have some substance.

I think the chaps at the Ski centre or at ellis brigham are fnie. I got my old ones done at Blues and the job was okay, but I was looking for something like a facotory finish for my new skis.

BTW, they are Blooming fast. Happy Problem is, I'm not Happy

Cheers

I'd reccomend the Ski 'n' boardroom in Partick, had my board waxed and edged previously and had a full service recently and they did an excellent job on both occasions. I live closer to a few other shops but would take it to the guys in Partick every time
