Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Merino base layer v Under Armour ColdGear Compression wear?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone shed light on which provides the better experience on wearability and against cold?

The Under Armour metal cold gear is supposedly better than the standard ColdGear which I have in both compression and relaxed fit. These are OK but am looking for something warmer. Never tried merino but Mountaingear has a good offer on 210gm base layers. My wife got one yesterday - wants me to go back and get another, and at £28 these are about half the price of the Under Armour.

Any other thoughts on the advantages of compression wear (keep it clean folks Happy )?

I too have been looking at under armour and 2xu and skins ,they all say thermal But my question is
which is better on the thermal ,is there a measurement that i should be looking for ?
toq was used a few years ago but this does not appear on any of the spec for thermal clothing.

I have also been considering Under Armour as I'm off to Canada in February. I had started discussing this on an aldi merino wool thread http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=56929&highlight= - a couple of friends really rave about Under Armour. I was in Arc 2000 before Christmas and it was around minus 19 degrees for three days. I felt comfortable in all my layers but would like to trim down a bit.

Give these guys a try. They do both, as well as a large Helly Hansen section.
