Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Been doing some reading on here in anticipation of my first trip to Europe this winter and I've realized we are going during one of the busiest holiday times. We'll be traveling as a group of four, probably needing two rooms in a hotel or an apartment for all 4. We are Considering splitting time between St. anton and Innsbruck or all in the arlberg. We would like to stay flexible on where we are staying but how hard will this be during such a busy time? Are advanced reservations strongly recommended or can we show up with no plans and find a place to stay?

You are almost the point where you are better off taking your chances and trying for last minute cancellations the week before you leave. You may well finish up having to stay at a more upmarket (ie expensive) hotel.

Try the accom service at: http://cms.stantonamarlberg.com/winter

Alternatives include staying a bit further out, eg at Pettneu.

As ulmerhutte, says the St Anton tourist website is very good and seems to show a fair amount of availability for that time at a range of prices.

You will find it much easier to book for a whole week rather than spending half a week in one place and half in another. Hotels will be looking to fill the whole week and will not want to take a few days here or there until just before the date in question.
