Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hope this is the right forum, if not, please excuse newbie error.

Going to La Thuile for the first time in Jan. Can any more seasoned snowheads tell me (a) are there adequte ATMs around and (b) has anyone tried Visa electron cards in them? Puzzled

Many thanks

It's a few years since I was there but I remember having a walk a bit from the Planibel complex (where we were staying) over the river into the older bit of town and there a cashpoint there. It wasn't a chore - nice walk and a few nice bars there!

No idea about Visa Electron.

Someone more helpful will be along in a minute.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm going in March! I think cashpoints are pretty much everywhere these days but even so, I normally just take enough cash with me rather than rely on there being one in resort. You pay extra to withdraw money from a UK bank account from a foreign ATM, you know that right?

snowplough king, Welcome to Snowheads.

1) Whilst I don't know la Thuile at all, I'd be really surprised if there weren't a few cashpoints around

2) Vise electrons - no idea

queen bodecia is correct, but there are ways round that problem such as using Nationwide cards or one of the pre-pay services.

Enjoy the trip..

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the replies.

Following up after visit, plenty of ATMs, and Visa Electron worked fine. Excellent skiing too.
