Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Safest way to walk with ski boots on

When walking around resort, into restaurant for lunch, etc in boots is it safest to leave buckelled up as you would do when sking or buckels undone

don't know.

SCGB members always travel by sedan chair. Toofy Grin

Actually - I never fully unbuckle my boots till I take them off. I'll often ski the first few runs with them semi-unbuckled, but I find walking in unbuckled boots uncomfortable

I leave mine done up, or my toes get so crunched it's agony.

You'll end up walking as if you've just sat, whilst nude, on a pepper grinder either way, so don't worry about it.

I leave mine done up - they're very uncomfortable unbuckled. Safest if it's icy is to use cat-tracks, but they're a faff to put on. So normally my plan is never to walk in them at all. Little Angel

I have to leave mine done up, or they are really uncomfortable, and my big toe nail falls off about 4 months later, in peak sandal wearing weather!

I leave mine buckled up too - more comfortable and also enhances the "aahhh" feeling when I DO eventually take them off wink

They are horrible things to walk in, but undoing them doesn't really make any difference to this. I just try to minimise the amount of walking I do in ski boots. Hiring lockers at the lift station is a good plan, then you can wear comfy shoes/boots for après.

I unbuckle mine, find it more comfortable and less chance of a heel skid. If I know I have to walk any distance in them I also wear very light shoes and carry the boots over my shoulder. I then have the shoes in my backpack during the day.

I'd be more worried about making sure you don't wear away the soles by walking on concrete than safety.

If you find youself having to do allot of walking in steep snow, I'd suggest getting some crampons, they make it allot easier.
