Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

LEKI STRAP

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've a friend who lost one but to replace cost £25.00 or snow and rock tells him, almost half the cost of his poles

Anyone know any cheaper sources?

What are the benefits to a Leki Strap?

Good question. I've got leki poles with straps, which are attached to my gloves, but I rarely, if ever, actually attach the straps to the poles. They are as much - or as little - use as any other pole straps. In theory they should detach in a heavy fall thus preventing the kind of thumb injury which certainly can (despite some scepticism on recent snowheads threads) be caused by pole straps which are very strong - even if they are held correctly.

Sorry cant help with replacement. I have been using Leki poles for the last 3 years, and I really like them. I find them easy and quick to use , I also like the comfort and support they give to your hands. The other advantage is that they release if you have a really big shunt.

I have leki poles with the straps you are talking about. I love them. One benefit is that when you are getting on lifts etc you just clip them on and off which is a lot less faffy than threading your hand through. I also have very small hands so I find that the leki strap fitting closely across my palm is much more comfortable and less of a handful than normal straps.

Careful as Leki have 3 different systems in use. Need to know if Yellow clips, red clips or plastic rings

Having said that I love my leki straps

Haven't really found out. Yes, they do release, in theory. But only in one direction, any other direction and there is no way to get free of them. After one slow fall that twisted my wrist so it was sore for weeks I stopped wearing the straps.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

1969jma, Is this a glove strap for a trigger pole? A glove strap for a Trigger S which has a loop, or an ordinary strap that has pulled from pole?

 You know it makes sense.

Lost one last week and picked up replacement pair in Snell Sports in Chamonix - £20 for pair. Fairly certain can order online from them as well.
