Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off Piste lessons in Les Arcs - Peisey Vallandry area??

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi.
Just wondering if anyone could recommend good value off piste beginner lessons in Les Arcs? (I'm optimistic that 3 days before we arrive, the whole Paradiski area will encounter a phenomenon of a champagne powder dump).

We're staying in Peisey-Nancroix if it helps.

Cheers
Dom

Dom74, Ski New Gen would be great - English speaking instructors and very very good with it. Not the cheapest but as you're there for the season IIRC it might be possible to see if they'll do you some deals. John Thomas is the main man there, but you'll have to sign-up for the 1st set of lessons through their website - http://www.skinewgen.com/ probably don't start til next weekend however.

I can recommend Edmond Tresaillet, from Peisey, who works for ESF. he is an older bloke, very nice, experienced. who has worked in the area all his life. I also know Francois, from ESF, who mostly takes the young beginners' children, outside Les Melezes, where the ESF offices are, and he can speak good English. He is a character, and can usually be found after hours in le Solan having a drink. If you require English speaking, I know Rob@rar speaks very highly of Ski New Gen.

Dom74, For off-piste, if he's about this season - Monsieur Bernard ESF Vallandry - don't know his second name.
65E for two hours IIRC.

Dom74 As we're out at the same time and sound about equal in ability, I'd be happy to share a lesson or two - keeps cost down. IMHO lessons of 2/3 are fine, especially off-piste. I'll probably have at least one a week while I'm out.

And I second Bernard of the ESF Peisey-Vallandry and John Thomas of Ski New Gen.
