Very very cold in La Plagne today, BUT that has kept the snow in excellent condition, lots of unpisted pistes and of course loads and loads of off piste. Very very quiet even for a Saturday, apparently there are problems on the French motorways and Channel Tunnel and English Airports. Looks like a quiet week ahead.
A liitle snow expected but nothing dramatic, but with the cold weather snowmakers are running.

Today we were over in La Plagne as well as Les Arcs following the in chard trail. Lot's of fun with sweeties, cheese and Vin Chard plus other goodies. The trails wa the open day for the Paradiski area and I have to admit the best snow of the day was to be found in champagny where there was about 10cm of fresh powder, quiet surprise. We will go back for more tomorrow (today). But one thing, although not to many people it was very cold on both side of the paradiski. But then it is snowing which is great.

I posted a link on the Les Arcs thread a long time ago but the french version is quite hard to translate. Anyone that is able to help, please do!!

snowcrazy, I guess Romain aims his site mainly at La plagne the English section gets better all the time, the english section of the forum has it's moments as well

Forgot to mention the new Bergerie lift isn't running at the moment, no explaination given.

Ford, We were at the lift today and they said they are working on it but waiting for a part to arrive. Could not tell us when it would open.

Great snow coming off the Roche De Mio down the off piste areas of invernese and carella. Excellent untracked powder with few rocks. At last we are starting to get good powder skiing. Very busy on the way back to the V.E. and Les Arcs at the end of the day on very icy pistes.

Excellent conditions all around from Plagne Centre upwards still found on piste powder over in Champagny then headed over towards Montchavin but became icy and slushy so rapidly came back up. at 4pm the temperature on Roche d Mio was 0.0c  The windchill was quite strong and so the snow was holding up very well.
All around Bellcote and Belle Plagne conditions were very good. (Restaurant price were ridiculous up there as usual)
Best advice was stay high, although the Glacier was shut becuase of high winds.

All pistes off piste today about 20 cm on top of all the slopes- visability not good until you were back down to Montalbert in the trees
|

redrunmarcus, Did not have time to post till now. Great conditions on higher slopes on saturday, spent most of the day playing i the powder in various areas. With all the fresh stuff in the last 24hrs I would think it is as good there as in Les Arcs now. Might get over to Les Cloches forest tomorrow. Has anyone tried the Challenge yet this season.

Yesterday saw great piste conditions in LP with sunny skies. The slopes are quiet with no queues at all. We spent the morning in fab piste conditions in Champagny side (recommended runs are Kamakazee and the runs by the Borseliers and Rossa chairlifts)
CAn report good conditions off Roche de Mio and in particular some nice off piste still by the Inversens run. I know that Redrunmarcus jumped off the extreme off piste side of RDM yesterday and understand that it was good conditions despite getting a goggle full of snow. Glacier was quiet and great snow.
Today should be much of the same with maybe the lower pistes icy first and last thing (tqalking La Roche, Montalbert ie below 1600m). Snow forecast to arrive tonight and tomorrow.

It's snowing in Montalbert and has been all day. I've been told conditions this morning were brilliant. Should be even better tomorrow morning because today's fresh snow and sunshine!

Yesterday was just AWESOME knee deep pwder off piste and 6'' on piste-the light was very flat at times but it was a great day
Today is expected to be sunny with snow moving in again tonight
