What does the A stand for? And toffee vodka... Ronseal. And no i don't mean it tastes like Ronseal although I imagine it's probably pretty close.

el nombre, the full name for SAD is "seasonal affective disorder" if i remember correctly. i.e. people are adversely affected by the lack of long periods of sunshine (or something) in the long winter months.
speaking for myself on the other hand (and i'm guessing a few other out there), i can happily forgo(sp?) the normally bland british summer for a northern hemisphere winter!
I quite agree. The summer is merely a season which gets in the way of skiing, rugby, cosy evenings and those lovely mornings with frosty grass...
On the plus side, barbecues are slightly more comfortable when it's 24C... Ah well, you can't have it all. But on balance, I'll take November-April please...
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You lot need summer hobbies. My motorcycle fills my skiing gap quite nicely.
Sailing is the perfect summer activity for skiers - has a lot in common. It's very weather dependent, you can be cold, scared, wrapped up in layers of very expensive gear - and loving it!

Excellent point (sailing, barbecues and cricket). No need for it to be the summer though... I've done very little sailing in the summer, most of it's been in the howling winds of November, February and March...
Crewing from Plymouth to Portugal ate up a good chunk of the summer a couple of years ago though. We even had very nice weather and conditions across Biscay (except for one night... )
After all it is free

pam w, sailing, nah.... too slow. Flying is where it's at in the summer. Weather dependent, can be very cold, scary, and have you seen the price of leather flying jackets?

mountain bikings also a great summer alternative..mountians, expensive kit, tons of gear you don't need and aren't really skilled enough to benefit from and strange fashions.
toffee vodka is great.. toffvoc or what ever the welsh on is.. leave abottle on yu window sill and when you return from the slopes you have a nice post ski drink ready for you.
