Given this sort of came up on another thread and no-one that I know of disputes the value of an expert eye in looking at things I can see immense value in just having someone just follow me around for an hour or so on the mountain and video me.
Not necessarily doing drills or anything "learning" but just to enable me to look at myself in a non-artificial environment i.e. ask me to perform a drill for the camera and my performance will no doubt be influenced by the presence of the camera. Anyone offer this sort of service? Its a level of skill on follow cam that the average mate doesn't have.

I tend to do this for my friends - even if they don't want me to! I haven't got them to film me yet though, so I haven't been able to review my own technique - short of pointing the camera at my grinning mug from arms length!

Not sure where, but I rmember seeing a camera that fits on the top of a helmet. Think it was in a Zermatt shop.
Anyway, if you can find one of these and get your mate wear it, should do the trick.
But if you wipe out big style - it'll be there for ever

Check this out (did a google thing and there are lots around)

Wayne, If I do that I'll get lots of footage of mate looking at his skis, sky, mountains, mars bar etc I suspect.
snowball, Almost certainly will show excessive standing around umming and aahing about which way to go, lots of plucking up courage for the unknown and heaps of tail skidding along with the odd graceless plummet off minor terrain features like windlips.

snowball, due to the job I'm pretty good at writing documents in which liability is carefully limited. Note that in my second para I haven't said it would be me offering this service to said ladies. I just thought that there's bound to be someone in the resort offering it

Depending on the terrain skied, sounds like a pretty intense task, even with a headcam. However I'd imagine that any private instructor would be prepared to video for reasonable stretches at a time and make quite an acceptable job of it if provided with the equipment?

fatbob, I did this my second season skiing (and third IIRC)... the video/photography place in Thredbo is run by Randy(yes that is really his name) who was a ski instructor and hot dog skier in years gone by.... He very nicely ran around filming my skiing so I could compare to the previous year and see my progress... As an instructor he also gave me analysis in the price I paid for the video. (Also the odd cheer or instruction tip during the season when he would spot me working on the skiing)
You should be able to get any decent ski photographer person to do the job I'd think....

Mrs horizon has just read this over my shoulder and wants a percentage now, what with Belgian taxes being about 120%.
I'm not sure how that works, do I still need to pay off snowball?
