Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello everyone,

I am looking to get into more regular skiing thus looking to buy my own boots.

Having been to Mountain center and had good service, he narrowed boots down straight away to Salomon impact8 CS or Atomic Hawx80

I feel I should get a 2nd opinion and fitting as i always do.

Is this wise?

My left foot is 4mm longer, little wider and arch if flatter so its causing some squeezing while right foot both of the above were a delight.

I have the CS blown and it felt OK but needed another blow they suspected and foot bed would help. Atomic was OK too, little less discomfort(Not to much just slight arch pain)

Now this might just be that the boot of course needs broken in so i am thinking the CS fully blown and good week or so of around the house wear will do the job.

Mountain center appear to be helpfully with after care too.

So in short is there some where else i can go and see what they think?

Don't want to goto rock and snow as i have heard some stories about push sales people.

thanks in advance

Leeds is hour away and I am down there a lot so its not a problem.

Also CEM and his shop in Bicester sounds good, i stop at the outlet a lot when driving to Reading for meetings so might be worth stopping in there too.

However i wanted you get some sooner rather than later as i am looking to get away Jan and February.

Last boots that Mrs MA & I bought were from Snow & Rock at the Metro Centre. It took absolutely ages - loads of foot measuring etc etc.

That was 3 years ago - absolutely no problems since - so I'd recommend them. Can't remember the fitter's name - but he was Polish,
