Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi

4 of us are taking a short break 9-13dec flying to Munich on EJ.
Anyone know of places to look for value accomm in Austria (ischgl hopefully)
When going to france we put a message on chaletsdirect and get offers direct , anyone know of similar website ?

Local tourist boards usually have something on their site so that you can pick an area or resort and ask for apartment owners/guesthouses/hotels to send offers/prices. The one for our area St Johann/Alpendorf allows up 15 owners/businesses to send you offers. Not sure how Ischgl one will work but had a quick look at their site and this may be worth trying:

I used the Ischgl one and it was the same, you can put in your requirements and people come back to you with offers.

Austrian resort website are generally good like that!

charliecolson, I was looking for similar dates and found this at Hoferau near Kappl, 6km short of Ischgl, no probs if you have a car, there are ski buses too, also 500m from Kappl gondola which is due to open on 11th Dec, found on the local tourist office website, looks quite nice:

charliecolson, also this one, same price in Jan so presumably also in pre-season Dec, looks like it's next door to Sophie near the main road through to Ischgl:

charliecolson, another centralised accomodation listing http://www.feratel.com/en/accommodations/austria/tirol/ischgl.html?tx_hotel_pi1[view]=1_0-20 showing 175 places with 2 rooms available in Ischgl area for your dates from €25 pppnt and upwards.

Be aware that there are various hamlets around Ischgl with accommodation that isn't walking distance to the lifts, no probs if you have a car or if the skibus stops nearby.
