Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Canada - Banff / Lake Louise / Sunshine

Poster: A snowHead
Sunshine resort opened significantly on Saturday. All except Goats Eye mountain, Contintental Divide lift and Tee-Pee were running by the end of the morning.

On piste (groomed) runs were good although a little icy in the morning (-15C). Off-piste got tracked out pretty quickly and there were plenty of rocks showing by the afternoon. Loads of snow fences still erected on the upper slopes so not fully open by any means but a very good start.

The ski out was open but had a few rocks on it around some of the bends.

Lake Lousie allegedly has some of the backside open but not visited there so can't comment further. Lot of snow on the Nordic trails though at Lake Louise.

banfflakelouise, what is the snowpack like this year at Sunshine? The Lake Louise lowdown is potentially the best thing ever.

Looked at the cams for Sunshine yesterday for the first time this year. Wow.
Wasn't expecting to see so much snow compared to europe, how does this compare to past years.
I think it's time we went back, pity the exchange rate is so horrid at the minute.

Last year, we had good early snow - looks like this year is shaping up well so far. All the resorts are aiming for early November opening, with Norquay doing their traditional Halloween opening.

Igluski.com has some good historical snow history here: http://www.igluski.com/canada/banff-snow-history_242

Would love to see you folks this winter!
