Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Brilliant race. Cuche and Ligety were awesome in the 2nd leg. What a great way to get the season off to a start Smile

DAB, could be that they're being charged a minimum of £3.5k to be on the team this year. That before any of their expenses, noted as being 10-12k. Could be that the time their spending trying to raise the dosh means they aint training as much as they'd want to be......

Now I aint British, but seems to me that a nation that has a handful of skiers capable of being competitive at a fairly high level should be doing better by their athletes.

Intersting selection notifications they must be - congratulations on your selection for the honour of representing your country, now gis 3 and a half grand so we can pay the suits to do whatever. rolling eyes rolling eyes

Oooh, so do I!

As for the Brit situation, it's a complete scandal that they are having to pay to compete Shocked .

Just got back from watching this race - it was a great atmosphere again and really packed. Perfect weather and conditions. That long steep drop they come down after the 2nd transition is a black ice wall and is f**king steep. In places it reminded me of the Aiguille Rouge run in Les Arcs, except that does not have blue ice under its lovely snow cover.

Pity that Benni Raich couldn't nail a podium place but Sölden always seems to elude him and this year it was his worst placement 4th in the last three years, 5th this year. but a good basis to build on. I'm glad Ligety got a good final result - I like him both as a skier and a representative of his country, much like Darren Rahlves was and consequently overlooked by the media circus.

Fantastic weekend of skiing both watching and doing. Definitely started my season on the real stuff now - bring it on please!

BTW at the brand-new Tiefenbach Restaurant (i.e on the glacier), I served myself a huge plate of freshly made salad and had half a litre of appelsaft g'sprizt and only had to pay 7.80 Euros. I could not eat all I had served myself with (eyes bigger than ... blah blah blah syndrome!), so I feel it was really good value for money!
