Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where do the Ski Club get their snow reports from?

The glaciers at Kaprun and Stubai received some light fresh snow over the weekend.

So all they can say about Austria is that two of the glaciers had light snow - but the Alpincenter at Kaprun was bare on Friday, and now has 1.5 metres of snow... Langwied at 2000m has 40cm, and the village at 900m had a dusting as well.

Hintertux had 1.1m of new snow, yet doesn't even rate a mention...

Typical Franco-centric stuff from the London-centric dinosaur? rolling eyes

From local tourist offices or reps when they are in resort I believe.

I was given the impression that they had a hotline straight to the big man upstairs, which also permits them to adopt their 'holier than thou' approach to life

ousekjarr, during the season they get their reports from the Reps each day, however where they don't have reps or during the off season they are reliant on information supplied by the locals

D G Orf, they have permanent staff and a budget for the website - surely they can compile a weekly snow report from a trawl of the main resort websites, especially at this time of year when few of them are open and so the effort is minimised. The information is out there, so why do they publish something which is wrong just because they apparently can't be bothered to get it right?

ben123, I suspected that was the case, but it doesn't excuse them sending out a newsletter which is wrong. Producing a summary of conditions in 9 countries (3 of which have closed for the season) on the day you send the newsletter isn't exactly difficult, especially if you've been following the snow reports anyway.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
