Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Oakley Wisdom's

Bought a pair of Oakley Wisdom goggles earlier this week on the net. They were considerably cheaper than the ones I bought a couple of years ago. Then today the Ellis Brigham catolouge comes through the letter box and I see they are not selling them any more. Have Oakley stopped making the Wisdom's !!

If so grab a pair on the net whilst they are still available. IMHO best goggles money can buy and I've tried a few.

I like em too although the frame could be a bit bigger. HI yellow lens is the business in a white out. If there is any thing to be seen you'll see it in these.

Kel, where did you get them and how much.

i've got the hi yellow iridium's and love them. I'd consider a bright day pair at the right price

Hmm, I'm tempted by that very fact. My present goggles aren't very good and - whisper it not abroad - render me a gaper. Shocked Embarassed I wonder if I dare buy these without trying them on...

Hurtle, noooo - you have to try them on first! I've found Oakley Wisdoms too big for me. The Adidas Yodai is a smaller frame but you know what snowheads say - don't buy before you try! Toofy Grin

cathy, I suppose there's always the option to return them. Thing is, that website has got some terrific bargains on it... Does any of the Oakley range fit you?
Edit: come to think of it, I could always pop into the Oakley shop in Cov Gdn over the w/e (does it still exist?) and then order online.

Kel, they are not x-ray specs but if you can see 2 metres in front at least you will have some deffinition.
Hurtle, Laughing I'll hope to be at hemel for the Monday lesson with Rob and Scott (i think its 23rd) and again for the November Snowheads club. If your tere I'll bring them along.

They are not small in a gaper way more so laterally (unless there is a lateral class of gaper you should be fine wink ) they are suited to smaller faces. They have a very nice looking frame IMO.
I wear them with a helmet no probs but some say they are not a great fit with a lid. Apparantly there are different straps maybe mine have come with the helmet compatiblie one Puzzled

A bit of gap above the goggles allows air flow and prevents fogging. I have no fog problems with them.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I don't understand the obsession with Oakley goggles, in my opinion they're not a patch on Smith's.

frank4short, very happy to be pointed in the direction of cut-price Smiths - that I can try on before buying. Toofy Grin

Hurtle, I'm afraid that i can't help you with. Though i am very happy with my 2 pairs. I think mine use the ignitor mirror lens tint, i think, though i couldn't say for sure. All i know is I've a sweaty head, i wear a helmet so ergo doubly sweaty, my smiths never fog up, the lens tint is both brilliant in flat light & bright light.

Time I did a search on flat light goggles, methinks. (Not interested in goggles for bright light - I wear sunnies whenever poss.)

Hurtle, IME some of the pink lenses are good in flat light. Bolle Vermillion for example. They will be ok when the sun comes out too. The mirrored finished Vermillion Gun is only good in bright light when you use sunnies.
HI yellow oakley really comes into its own in absolute whiteout if the sun comes out at all it offers little or no protection so I always have sunnies or other goggle handy.

I have heard some of the Smith lenses are awesome in flat light but have no experience of them so .
