Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What's the best route to drive there from the UK, particulary avoiding the Swiss motorways?

Thanks

Swirly, Is it a trick question ? The vignette isn't that expensive.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

rjs, really, How much is it? Is it true that if I drive out in November and back in April I'll have to buy 2: 1 for 2009 and one for 2010?

Swirly, It is 40 CHF. If you waited until 1 December before going out you would only need one, is it worth being there in November ?

I have never seen anybody at the customs in Le Chatelard and you wouldn't need to use the autoroute between Martigny and Sion. You would have spent more on fuel and tolls in France though.

If I was driving then I would go Calais - Reims - Dijon - Dole - Pontarlier - Vallorbe - Lausanne - Sion.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you are in Switz' for months at a time what do you think the realistic chances of you not driving on the main motorways are?

Man up and buy the vignette!

Swirly, Our fav route to the Valais is over the Col du Forclaz as Chaminox is an easy drive and the last part over the Col always sets the tone for the trip..

What you save on the vignette you may pay in tolls so roundabout and swings possibly

You never going to do an airport run for cash in the mighty Punto or other errands? Never going to blast up the Mway to Sierre for VdA?

Swirly, I am convinced that the reason for this thread is to make me jealous that this will be your 2nd season on the trot. You have succeeded. Twisted Evil

fatbob, supermarket probably as with last winter. Didn't do any airport runs then but might have to this time.

I didn't realise it was only CHF 40 so will just get one, definitely going to head to some other places too as there are so many.

achilles, Twisted Evil it wasn't, honest.
