Hello
Does anyone have an experience of these helmets? I like the look and was thinking of the new G2 with the closable vents, I generally don't get cold on the mountain but the older I get the colder I seem to get! I recently started power kitting as well so would like the helmet to be summer and winter usable so if not bern brentwood or G2 any other ideas?

charliwest, I've got a bern Baker. Bullet proof helmets but the baker has no vents so is as it's name sake, baking. Most off the bern helmets are multisports so would be good for power kiting.

I tried on a few bern helmets a couple of months ago in the sales (my head is 58cm so I didn't get one at the time). I found them okay if a bit basic.
At the smae time I tries a Smith Holt helmet. It was great and IMHO way better than the equivalent bern at the price (£65) but just a bit too big. So you may want to try one of these.
I ended up getting a demon helmet form a shop (wher ethe box was bashed) for £14 
Anyway. try the holt helmet. they are very comfortable.

I've got one. Can't remember which but it only cost me about £25. Finish scuffs relatively easily if your rough with it. Also the goggle clips have a habit of falling out causing you to loose them.
The same helmets come with different foam options, Brock Foam does not meet as many standards whilst the EPS meets at least some skiing & biking standards. Brock Foam is cheaper obviously.

I've got a Baker too. Had it for a couple of years now. Very comfy, bullit proof and keep you warm on those long lifts. Only gripe is the clip at the back doesnt hold my goggles on that well when they are resting on the helmet.

Mr Firebug has one, he really likes it.
I read that as "I recently started power knitting " and was envisaging some sort of custom tea-cosy over the top...

Power knitting sounds extreme! I think good goggles would be needed as well though...
