Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SCGB third class standard

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This is a whimsical enquiry but perhaps the SnowHeads can help.

I have known and been around SCGB for more than 25 years but cannot remember anything other than Bronze, Silver, Gold and more colours for classifying members.

Can anyone help me with a date for when third class was dropped by SCGB?

Thanks

octopuski, SCGB will proably let you know if you contact them. failing that, pm skilegs - a SCGB veteran, but not likely to browsing here until the season starts, I think.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I have asked SCGB but they were not able to tell me - maybe all the knowledgeable ones were away summer skiing!!

octopuski, as I wrote, skilegs would be worth asking - as would David Goldsmith. I haven't seen him on the forum for yonks - but a pm would probably get to him.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you, I will try that approach.

octopuski, I don't think they have used those gradings (including Bronze and Silver) for many many years, although a lot of older members wear their old badges with pride - and sometimes with rather poor retro skiing style Wink

Now it is green/blue/red/silver/purple/gold on-piste and red/silver/gold/purple off piste

see here

The grades are subdivided - eg Silver, Silver plus, Silver/purple, Purple minus, Purple.

Then there is a fitness grade - which is where I fall down...

I like the idea though... Snowhead - Third Class Toofy Grin
