Poster: A snowHead

BBC Look North reported last night that there was a few cm of snow on Alston Moor, Cumbria yesterday afternoon! I'm 40 miles east and 550m lower than the Alston ski area and it was a very nippy 6C - so I'm not surprised at the snow. BBC also said that there are photos on the BBC Cumbria website - but I can't find them.
Only two week's until the nights start drawing in - winter's on its way!!

Off to Zermatt on Saturday, and there is a report of 50 cm of snow coming on Monday. Unfortunately we are putting together the last few details for our wedding and will have no time for skiing

It's one of the main passes over the peak district between Sheffield and Manchester.
Snake pass being the other.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Twitchy, you live near Nentsberry Haggs and I assume Hudgill mines. Have you ever ventured into either ? Some of the mine exploration in that area is extraordinary.
