Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snow in the Pennines - Winter's on its Way!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
BBC Look North reported last night that there was a few cm of snow on Alston Moor, Cumbria yesterday afternoon! I'm 40 miles east and 550m lower than the Alston ski area and it was a very nippy 6C - so I'm not surprised at the snow. BBC also said that there are photos on the BBC Cumbria website - but I can't find them.

Only two week's until the nights start drawing in - winter's on its way!! Very Happy

I've found one on there, in the June galleries, labelled 'Snow on Hartside taken today at lunchtime! (5th June 2009) Claire Lumley, Alston.'

Off to Zermatt on Saturday, and there is a report of 50 cm of snow coming on Monday. Unfortunately we are putting together the last few details for our wedding and will have no time for skiing Sad

IIRC, the photo is actually on Featherbed Moss and the road is hiding behind our heads somewhere. We went up there the next weekend too but the snow wasn't as nice.

Twitchy, you live near Nentsberry Haggs and I assume Hudgill mines. Have you ever ventured into either ? Some of the mine exploration in that area is extraordinary.
