Poster: A snowHead

There is a brief description at the bottom of this page by Dennis Summerbell, but no picture.
Googling for "death couloir meribel" or "death couloir courchevel" gives lots of matches.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

*Disclaimer - skiing off piste is dangerous etc etc etc*
Coming out of Burgin Saulire turn left, climb the ladders then traverse left. Bingo.
Partway down you generally need to dogleg (left from memory - its been a couple of years since I last went down there) to avoid a bit of cliffiness.
Not very long, but a nice line if you catch it in good snow.
Can't confirm pass-confiscation possibilities - know plenty of people who ski this & there are tracks in it fairly regularly in a good season.

i know a few who have done it and heard the Pisteurs dont like you climbing the ladders without harnesses etc, Im not sure but it could be those ladders arent part of the via ferreta and may be off limits... also as offpisteskiing, says there are cliffs, make a wrong turn and off you go hence the name...

Don't get this wrong - definitely turn left at the split in the rocks - otherwise you are either hiking back up a steep hill or skiing off a cliff!
Location is as described above, ie. just next to the Saulire lift from the Meribel side and up the old metal ladder
There is also a couloir into Meribel from near the top of the Courchevel couloirs called Meribel Couloir.

PunxBolduc, Death couloir is further right (right of the antenna). Not very obvious from this angle (or pretty much any angle apart from just out of the bottom of it).
What you've marked in red is roughly the line of couloir de l'antenne.

I seem to remember it being very obvious when you are actually in the couloir.... and tbh if people are going to ski this sort of terrain they need to be able to figure out minor route finding for themselves...
Its only a small cliff anyway (has been dropped numerous times in big snow)...

I climbed to the top of the couloir last week - up the ladder and along the cable, with a liftie watching - he didn't say anything, and there are no indications that this is off limits. However, it certainly isn't part of any via Ferrata (the Croix de Verdons via is accessed by the same route as the Grand Couloir). I could confirm, looking down, what offpisteskiing said, there seems to be a rock/cliff about half way down.
