Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Almost a foot of snow last night on the slopes snowHead
Even snowed a bit in town (though as usual it is now raining in the village!!). Was going to unveil my new SX10s today expecting it to be cold, icy and rock hard, but what did I see on the snow report but 28cm of fresh stuff. Think it'll be a fat ski day for me today snowHead Cool

And fresh snow all over Alberta too...... its been icy the last week and it goes and dumps the day I leave, what a kick in the teeth!

It was a knee deep powder - fantastic. Robertsons was great, even managed to get all the way down 4 times without wiping (anyone) out snowHead
And the good news - the peak wasn't open (avalanche contol) so we still have all that to look forward to - hurrah!!

stuarth, Oiii, no talking about Robertsons, i still haven't had my ski pants fixed yet. If i dont manage to get them fixed YOU will be buying me a new pair NehNeh

I knew it had to come good eventually. Let's hope the Pineapple Express stays away now and the temperatures stay low.

I fly out on the 22 Feb. The trip was all paid for before Xmas so I was getting very twitchy....

Received an e-mail from the apartmnet owmers yesterday, offering me a 50% refund if conditions deteriorate to less than 65% of lift open. She's been very sympathetic, and we have decided to go for it, and have paid for the apartment. (it was also a pleasant surprise when I paid the balance, as I thought I had only paid $250 but i'd paid more.

Cold and clear, time to fire up the snowguns and start rebuilding those lower runs. Winter's back and all's well. They did not open the Peak yesterday (still clearing avalanche hazards) so today there should be some excellent riding up there.
