Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Quote:
An 80 year old man broke his leg on Monday when attempting a two metre ski jump on a black run at Mt Buller ski resort in Australia.

Asked by medics why he had attempted the jump, he is reported to have replied, “Life’s too short.”

The man was flown by air ambulance to Melbourne for treatment after his friend raised the alarm.

Brilliant Laughing

Anyone else think this bloke rocks?

Well he could just have easily done it with a simple trip at home so why not?!

Sadly could be the end of skiing career for him though if he's still doing that at 80 who knows Laughing

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

And there is me wondering if I have left it too late to enjoy skiing into the future having only cracked it at the tender age of 40.

Megamum, no worries. I started at 40 too (if you don't count a one-off school trip that I couldn't afford to repeat till I was 40). You have years ahead of you! Just don't go leaping off cliffs.

pam w, I started mid to late 30's having never been on skis in my life. Leaping off cliffs is great fun. Go for it... just pick really, really small ones Laughing

Scarpa, no, I steer well clear of cliffs, given that I intend to keep going well past 80. Got to preserve the old joints. And I might give up snowboarding before then. wink
