Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any views on the women's skis by Head - Great One?

I'm looking for skis to go off piste, and park/pipe stuff. This sounds really silly, but I'm looking at these skis as the pictures on them are really cool, and they're marked as an all mountain ski. They're billed as the women's version of the Head Monster.

Does anyone have any views as to whether they'll be any good for this, while I try to find somewhere to demo them before buying?

many thanks

I have a pair of Monster im88's which just about pass muster off the groomed stuff (I quite like them Very Happy )... don't think a pair 77mm wide are going to be the best ski for you as an off piste specialist ski..... as an all mountain ski maybe.....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

These ski's are fantastic 'All mountain' skis, they are a good all round 60% on piste 40% off piste weapon, they are 77mm in the waist which basically means they are good enough to use off piste, but hire something 'phat' for the big powder days. As for park and pipe stuff.... they will do it, but not ideal, a little to shaped, and not a twin tip, depends how into it you want to get? To summarize, they are one of the best skis on the market for a strong all mountain lady skier. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for off piste more than on piste skis, to be honest, as I'll keep my current skis for on piste. I'm looking to massively improve my offpiste skills, and also want a twin tip that I can mess about with doing jumps and switch and stuff. So, I probably need a ski that's a bit wider, softer and less shaped, as you say.

It may be that these aren't the correct ski for what I want (it's such a cool photo on the ski - bah!). Back to the drawing board then.

In that case go for Head 'Sweet One'

Or Salomon 'Lady'

Both with pretty pimp graphics I'm sure you'll agree. Enjoy.

snowqueen11, I have these skis and love them Very Happy I think the comments above are probably fair as they are an All Mountain ski and not specifically for Off-Piste or Park.

off the top of my head how about :

snowqueen11, Great ones are really good skis, but if you want something more off-piste, why not try some of the demo stock at Hemel? either the HEAD skis or S & R stock. Not ideal conditions, but it'll give you an idea, especially on a Friday Freestyle night, to check out the jumps and rails.

Oh, I have a pair of these and they are just fantastic! I've skied them in deep powder, icy conditions, slushy conditions, bumps, groomers and everything in between.

I feel they've really helped better my skiing this year and would say yes get a pair!

I trialled a pair with EB in Milton Keynes Xscape.
