Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Resort Clean up Days

Initially spotted a link to this on the Les Gets lift company website (www.sagets.fr).

Thought it was a pretty good initiative, as I am sure we all leave more than just our footprints behind.

The following link is where and when you can participate in your resort clean up.

Les Gets' clean up is on the 30th May if anyone is interested.

I've heard of this in other, smaller resorts. When the snow melts, all manner of stuff is revealed Shocked I've always been impressed with the rubbish points in Les Gets village though - you can drop off cardboard, plastic, tin etc all in one not unattractive (for a bin...) unit.

Yep I've heard of that running in other resorts, can't see much on that link for a number of the tarentaise resorts apart from Val Despair and La Roz..although I know these things happen in Peisey-Vallandry (for example!)

If I was still out there, I'd definitely be chipping in...

Great initative garyscott20. Is anyone aware of this kind of thing happening in other countries? When I was in Sölden at Easter and the snow was melting in some areas it was surprising how much 'junk' you see when the snow is no longer around. And that's aside from the mass of ski poles you come across!

And what could be better than clambering around doing a good impression of a mountain goat, toping up your tan, whilst tidying up the area for you and others....

Important as winter mountain litter can be a serious fire hazard in the summer.

I'm all in favour of this for areas popular with walkers. For rubbish left by skiers, lift cos should arrange it, so the cost is borne by all skiers.
