Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski hire in Pila

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Just booked ourselves (4) and in-laws to Pila next year, Crystals are telling us to book passes and equipment early as the costs are about to go up.
Has anyone any recommendations for a ski hire shop in Pila as we're thinking of hiring over the net?

I used a shop for some ski touring kit. Can't remember the name, but it's down the iron steps behind the main gondola station and the 1st place you come to on the right. There is a lovely Scottish lady working there called Catriona, and the kit looks it good condition (mine was new). Good guys.

Isn't that assuming the exchange rate is going to get worse? I'd do a bit of research into what the experts think is going to happen, if the pound strengthes or the euro weakens this could more than cancel out any price rise.

davef, http://www.snowrental.net/ is worth a try. I found it the cheapest way to hire in 3 vallees (that or ski republic)

Anytime, I have been to Pila, I have used the shop at the bottom of the cable car in Aosta in the large car park. The shop is next to a cafe. I have used them about 3 times and have always had very good skis.

Wherever you choose (I think Crystal use La Roccia where David went) check out what your DIN settings should be before you arrive. Avoid 'Italian DIN'.
Looking at ski stickers on the lifts, the best kit seems to come from Technosport. But they are down in the valley - so that's no help to you.

Yep, best work out your correct setting before going, but I'd recommend that for everyone irrespective of their desination.

With the touring Kit I had it wasn't a consideration, but friends has 'issues' with kit hired down the Valley in Aosta (Not Technosport).
