Poster: A snowHead

Planning a summer trip to Saas Fee - can anyone recommend a reasonable overnight stop about 1-2h from Calais (A26 route)? Have looked at the usual Formule1 etc - but other suggestions would be welcome.

If anyone is thinking of booking there for Half Term February 2010 its worth noting that they were fully booked by October last year!
You can book for Feb half term now. Their website takes your CC number but no charges are made until you stay

And there is absolutely nowhere to get a meal, unless you facny roadkill from the Campanile. I would rather stay somewhere a bit more civilised.

I like Les Trois Luppars at Arras. Great location right on one of the lovely old squares rebuilt after WWI and there are loads of places to eat and drink within a few yards.
The bedspreads are a bit eye catching though

We like Gina Bulot's hospitality and excellent cooking. Look at the website http://www.chambresdhotes-chezgina.com/ . Very quiet rural location but close to the A26 between two junctions at Auchy au Bois.

Ditto the B&B in St Quentin. Also have 4-bed rooms if you need them. We often stay there before getting a breakfast ferry. It is not far off the Autoroute and close enough to Calais to predict the arrival time accurately. Meals aren't a problem for us because we always aim to eat on the ferry.
