Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Going to Saas Fee next week. Never been. Recommendations where to eat and good runs would be appreciated. Intermediate standard (blues and reds). Thanks.

We're there at the moment. The weather has been far better than the forecasts. Stay high, it gets very slushy in the afternoons below 2500 m. My OH likes to warm up by taking the Alpin Express to Felskinn and then, rather than the Metro Alpin train, bear right and go straight to the piste. There is a gentle track and various options of blues and reds back down to Morenia. You don't need to use a T-bar, but it is a gondola rather than a chair lift. If you go 100 m or so below Morenia, there is (looking down the piste) a blue to the right served by a button lift (the bottom is a little steep) and a 6-man chair lift to the left serving a couple of red runs. If you use the button lift, turn left at the top for the blue run or turn right to get back to Morenia. From the top of the chair lift, you can either get back to the chair lift of get back to Morenia. Further up, from the top of the Metro Alpin there is a track which opens up a number of red runs. The runs at the very top are served by T-bars because they are on the glacier. As you come down, you can either bear left to Langfluh or bear right back to Morenia. There is a long blue down to Langfluh which is served by one of the longest T-bars in the world. Alternatively, you can ski past the bottom of the T-bar and take a red down to a 4-man chair lift. From the top of the lift you can bear right along a track to a steepish red run or you can bear hard right back to the T-bar or beyond. There is also a track which joins the steepish red half way down (after the steepest section). You can get to Langfluh from the village by taking the Spielboden and Langfluh lifts.
For lunch on the mountain, try the self service restaurant at Morenia for an amazing selection of food. Spielboden restaurant is quite good if you go up at lunchtime. You should try the revolving restaurant at Allalin, but don't get too excited about the food. In the village we like the Waldesruh. We avoid the restaurant at Langfluh for anything more than a drink.
Can't give much advice for the evenings. It all depends on what you want to spend.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks - Some really good info there I'll print it off before we go. We're staying at the Waldesruh half board so won't be eating out in the evening. Expecting slush in afternoon so hoping to start early and stop for a late lunch. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
