Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi guys
From reading around here for a while, I think i am correct in saying there are a couple of teachers based in Tignes on here? Or certainly people who know some.
The threads I have found (for example, the intructor recommendations thread) seem to all be pointing at more advanced and off-piste type things.
Can anyone recommend a teacher in Tignes who will be able to get me off the plateau that i find myself on for the last few years?
Every time I've had lessons it's always been with the usual ski school suspects (ESF and the like) because this always seems pretty good value for money. But i suppose this is another issue - budget! I can't afford these top drawer one-on-one courses for hundreds of Euros.
Feel free to throw any thoughts at me. I just want to feel that i come away from this week better than when I went out.
Cheers
Sam

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Stewart Woodward works for the ESF in Tignes and gets good reviews from the snowHeads he has taught. Maybe send him a PM and ask his advice?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

During last years Ski & Boot Camp there were a few of us had lessons with Kev Herbert of Evolution2. I can highly recommend lessons with him. They were very beneficial and also very good fun. Their web site is worth a look

book some private lessons with "the development centre" - http://www.tdcski.com/
Pretty good value and you'll learn lots.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Had some great lessons with Stewart Woodward this year. Private lessons seem expensive but worth every penny as they make such a difference to your skiing. Very varied lessons with lots of laughter!

I agree billyh, my son and his mate have just had a lesson with Stewart. They said it was the best fun they had had, and wanted to do some more (which I have not heard after their previous sessions!)

Cheers for your help guys.
I had a look at Evolution2's website, which is impressive and have contacted them. I liked the sound of their group improvement lessons, but unfortunately they don't have any adults booked so far for that week - so may have to consider private lessons there instead.
Stewart Woodward has asked for more info on dates / ability etc, which I have provided, and i await his response!
Here's to hoping I can actually improve this year!
