Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St Anton, last weekend (27-30 Mar) - photos

It sometimes pays to skive. Had we just gone for Saturday and Sunday, we'd have skied difficult snow in flat light. (Well, not strictly true. We had a choice of going high and skiing good snow blindly, or going low in the trees and skiing liquid cement in good visibility. Every time we chose one, we thought "sod it, let's go for the other option". And then returned to the previous one - so we yo-yo-ed all day long).

But we (irbis, a non-posting snowhead plus mrs horizon and myself) decided to take some time off work and went from Friday to Monday. All photos below are from those two days (irbis in red, me in dark green + silver helmet, a TGR chap in light beige).

Three cheers for Franz at pistetopowder, whose group we joined on Monday and who found us excellent snow in sunny weather (despite threatening us with fog and crust). Oh, he can ski a bit too.

Nice pics. Never skied with Franz but the size of his skis compared to his height always used to make me smile.
