Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

2010 Atomic Race Ti Sl or Race ST

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
hi, has anyone had the opportunity to demo next years Atomic Slalom skis?

Looking to purchase new slalom skis and am trying to decide whether to wait for the 2010 skis to be released, but am unable to find any reviews as yet.

thanks in advance

look4now, CEM tried next years Atomic GS, said they were amazing and the factory ones even better.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

look4now, you will probably pick up a good deal on a pair of this years, if you are looking at getting the D2 double deck Sl then wait, they are smooth as silk [dam near killed me though!!]

look4now, I hired the SL12 Race Ti's in Zell in Feb and they were the most responsive slalom ski's I've ever used. Edge to edge they were like lightning and they felt so stable under foot... fast as hell and nearly threw me off a couple of times on the first few runs as I was getting used to them!!! If you position your weight correctly over them they are effortless at high speeds. I spent all week skiing round the mountain with a big cheesy grin on my face and didn't want to give them back at the end of the trip.... these ski's turn heads too... a good few instructors commented on them in lift queues....

I own SL11's and have hired the older model SL12's a few times but the Ti's knocked spots off everything else. I'm a total Atomic freak so don't generally ski anything else if I can help it... was forced to ski this years Volkl Racetigers for a long weekend in Gstaad in Jan but they weren't in the same class as the new atomics.

If you buy a pair of these you won't go far wrong. I don't really see how Atomic can improve on these babies with just one years further development so if the price is right I'd certainly buy them now... In fact, I'm looking for a pair myself so if you do find any please let me know!!! wink

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

CEM, thanks the model I was looking at is the one which sits below the D2 version, which is going to be v.expensive, the Race SL Ti is expensive enough; do you know when Atomic will be shipping these to the UK? They are available in europe now.

Snowgod, again thanks; the Racetigers were 2nd on my list, but keep looking at the '09 SL12's. I have sort of settled on next years Race Sl Ti model; to confirm were you on the '09 SL12 PB or next years Race SL Ti?

look4now, you may get a pair from Bartletts now or in the next few weeks, worth a call

The DoubleDeck looks interesting, rather like Salomon's 2000-ish model race stock skis that had the red Race Axe plates which had attached twin Prolink bars. Prolink disappeared off the top end race kit PDQ though. Aren't Atomic and Salomon owned by the same company and sharing ideas now?

When you do find a pair, if they're doing 2 for 1, I'd be pleased to take the other pair off your hands... wink Toofy Grin

briand6868, I bought race STs recently and have been meaning to post a review on here. I'll do that in the next day or so. I considered the D2 SLs having borrowed a pair of SL11s previously but concluded I didn't need that level of stiffness (or price wink)

wigan, That would be great Wigan, have read a few on other sites but would be nice to hear it straight from the horses mouth, a friend of mine ( Solomon fan) reckons factory race dept skis are way too stiff and "punter labs" are the way to go so these seem to fit the bill, and I'm a big Atomic fan anyway..
