Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone done any touring around the Cairngorm Ski area in Scotland? I've got a few free days early next week and will be in the area anyway, so thought I might take my skis and skins... Any suggestions or sources of information would be appreciated. Thanks

And their forum.
And look for posts from h11lly on winterhighland in the forum section (try 'Cairngorm snow' thread - she seems to go touring most days (except when she is acting as a ski ambassador for the ski area). Her last report is from Tuesday!
Hope the wind calms down.

Go for it...
We toured over to Ben Macdui 2 weekends ago.
Although the Coire Cas ski area looked bare from Loch Morlich there was heaps of snow up on the plateau.
Its usually got for touring up until end of April / May.

A few pics here.

EmmaR, Welcome to Snowheads! snowHead

Some years ago (when I was fitter! Toofy Grin ) I spent a great blue sky day at Cairngorm skinning up Lurchers Gully, then over the Ben Macdui plateau described by Haggis Trap above and then finally descending via the Cairngorm pistes.

Toured the weekend just gone at the Cairngorms with Philw.

Nice snow in Lurchers on Sunday just gone.A tad windy with poor visability on the summit which put pain to any chance of an extended tour but still enjoyed a drop of Highland park and a nice well earned decent wink

Regards Mark
