Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Prosneige in Val Thorens

The description on their website lists a level as "Never skied or indoor only (special group)"
http://www.prosneige.fr/en/ski-school/ski-adult-group-lesson.php

Does anyone know if this means if you have only ever skiied indoor you are in a group with beginners or in a group with others who are in a simialr situation.

The next level up is "1 week of skiing, snowplought turn, you can easily ski green and blue runs." We can snowplough and are starting to go parallel between turns but obviously haven't skiied green and blue runs before as we have only skiied indoors ...

Many thanks

Mazza, Thats my understanding too. I expect its more dependant on your ski-ing skills though. Have you booked the trip to Val Thorens or les Menuires yet?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I am going to VT in two weeks, and have lessons booked with Prosneige. I was wondering exactly the same thing, as I felt I'd rather push myself in the lessons than be held back, so I emailed Prosneige. They replied that it depends on a few things, but they also said that if you can turn in plough and stop then go to level one.

Also, I have heard from someone who has been to VT and Prosneige a few weeks ago, and they will assess you the first morning and continually thereafter.

Check here for a bit more info...

As nemeziss says, the group you attach yourself to initially may not be the group that you end up in. Most ski schools will caryy out an initial assessment of your skking ability on the slope, and move you up or down if they see fit. Addiontally a good ski school may revise that again after a day or two if they feel that you are "out of place" in your current group.

Prosneige at Val T has a good reputation with snowHead s following using some of their services for several EOSBs.
