Hi,
Anyone been there, how easy is it to get to the slopes?
Any accommodation recommendations?
Any mountain restaurant suggestions and in the village.

Never been there from all the times I skied Garnd Massif. There is supposed to be a blue run Cascades , dubbed as the longest in Grand Massif, to ski from Flaine into Sixt but the return is by bus only back to Samoens or Morillon. My piste map shows there are 6 lifts, one black, 3 red, 3 blue and 2 green runs in Sixt. Haven't run out of piste in Flaine/Samoens, Morillon and Carroz myself to give Sixt a try.
I can imagine one gets a cracking deal to stay there if one is prepared to take bus trips to start and finish a day's skiing. If I have to guess the time for the bus distance from Sixt to Samoens I would put it 20 to 25 minutes but the French drivers may better that.
There must be skiers to Flaines who have skied Cascades and able to tell you the scores.

radar, When you looking at going?
When we were at Samoens last Easter, the Sixt slopes had already closed for the season. No idea if this was normal, exceptional, or whatever. If you are self-driving or have a hire car, then it's only 20(?) minutes from Sixt down to the Samoens gondola, so if you've a good deal then go for it. But if you are relying on the ski bus, you need to do more research on its timings and whether it's close to your accomodation.

RobW may have a good point because Grand Massif isn't very high and the snow can disappear quickly towards the end of season. Sixt is among the lowest.
There will be still some skiing but possibly taking the bus then gondola to a much higher level. Skiing back to Sixt or the base level of Samoens and Morillon may not be viable near the season end.

I can confirm it's a really nice place with nice people. It's certainly not commercialised and you won't get ripped off there. The Sixt ski area is quite small but there are some nice runs. Sometimes it does open only in January and closes early though because of lack of snow but probably not this year. You can ski from Samoens which is not far anyhow and you are pretty much guaranteedd snow there until mid-April. You may not be able to ski back down to Sixt as the Cascade piste is not always open in April. There is not a huge choice of accommodation but there are some good value hotels (Le Salvagny is cheap so is Le Petit Tétras). For self-catering there is a good value chalet located just behind the ski area on http://www.peakretreats.co.uk/ski/sixt-fer-a-cheval.htm. Finally if you do go there is my favourite restaurant in the area which is Le Grenier à Babou.
