Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Baselayer combination advice please

I have Arc'teryx soft shell gore tex ski pants which have no lining whatsoever. I skied in them in the summer in Argentina and Chile with just some Icebreaker 200 capri leggings on underneath and was fine temperature wise, but i suspect it will be much colder in Jackson in a couple of weeks and i'm worried about getting cold. I therefore call upon the collective wisdom/experience of snowheads to advise me or confuse me further lol

I also have some skins capri leggings, but i do find these cold just when out walking over here. Can i wear both these and the icebreakers together if i need to? If so which should i go for next to the skin?

Should i track down some Icebreaker 260s as these are a little warmer?

Or what about a midlayer? I have never needed these before as i've always had lined ski pants. I looked at some TNF fleecey lined leggings earlier but apparently these only come in a full leg length so i would have to hack the bottoms off.

I just use stretch jogging pants as a mid layer and cut the bottoms off.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

snobunni, Are the soft shell pants 100% waterproof? As I need some new ones I thought they might double as walking waterproof trousers.

Only you will know...but normally a layer between skin and shell is often enough for most people down to about -15 for legs, IMO

snobunni, quit fretting; there are plenty of shops when you get there if you do feel cold.
