Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tiffindell Ski Resort
Tiffindell Ski Resort, the only downhill ski resort in South Africa, has gone into provisional liquidation. The resort, which is located in the Eastern Cape, owes a so-far undisclosed amount to creditors.

NEW DEAL BAILS OUT TIFFINDELL
TIFFINDELL Ski Resort, the only downhill ski resort in South Africa, will be open for business this winter after a joint venture was formed to save it from closure.

Tiffski, owners of Tiffendell, entered into the partnership with Nitrochron Investments after the company went into provisional liquidation (TIR 360˚ e-News, February 16). The new ownership and management agreement will come into effect in May.

Under the new agreement, several key members of Tiffendell's executive management team - including Lance Cuyler, Ian Lottering and Nicola Burns - will continue to manage the 144-bed resort.

"The operations at Tiffindell resort will continue and will remain fully operational as in previous years. Management of Nitrochron are committed to this winter, and it will be a continuation of the resort providing a world-class service to its patrons as in the 2008 season," said Mr. Cuyler.

"With the launch of our fully inclusive packages and our high occupancy bookings to date, we are confident in our abilities to operate the resort successfully," said Ms. Burns.

The new packages include all meals and are available for three or four-night bookings, starting at R4,650 per person.

Ms. Burns added: "Reservations will offer an insurance option of 100 percent refundable guarantee on all deposits and bookings made during the 2009 year."
