Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski and boot hire in Soll

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Last year in Soll we had our ski hire organised by our tour operator in the shop above the gondala locker room which was ideal.
This year, through a different operator we have been offered hire at Stoll - anyone know how convenient/ good thsi place is?
Thanks
Pilg.

PS: Less than two weeks till i go!!! Smile

I think it's the place in the centre of town, near the Salvn Stadl (though they may also have a shop near the gondola base...I can't remember). If you're staying in the center of town then should be pretty convenient...if you're not then it's only going to be an issue on the first and last morning anyway.

Enjoy - I heard something about them getting 60cm last week...that must be practically unheard of Smile

Pilgrimage, Just back from Soll yesterday, had an amazing week. I have never seen that much snow in my life. The skiing was to die for. The locals have said that it hasn't snowed that much in one season, since 22 years ago!!!

You lucky Very Happy wish I was going back this season, have a brill time

In the last 10-12 days, the reported snow at base level in the ski welt has risen from 40cm to 120cm. Laughing Laughing (200cm at the top of the mountain).

Does any one know what the gondala ski shop is called and whether you can book direct with them online?

Pilgrimage, Stoll is on the right hand side as you go up from the main road to the gondola. If I where you I would Hire ski's and boots there and then walk about 300 yards or wait for the ski bus up to Edingers and store them there. It's 14 euro for the week.

Just to make sure i have got this correct - you would advise rent from Stoll rather than Edingers?

Pilgrimage, We hired at Edingers and stored them there too. Didn't book them through Edingers as it was dearer. Booked them thro Snow Rental on line for Edingers (If that makes sense), we saved quite a bit doing it that way. The whole process on arrival was second to none, staff were superb and nothing too much trouble. Can't comment on Stoll though, just going off past places at other resorts, Edingers are our best so far Little Angel

Pilgrimage, Sorry I made a bit of a mistake by not reading your last post. If you want top of the range ski's then I would go to Edinger, If you want to check out prices then try this web site www.skiwelt.at there is a list of all ski hire shops in Soll. The one's I've used are Snow and Fun [great boot fitter if you need new boots] and Dave's Sports British guy opened a couple of years ago.
