Poster: A snowHead
|
I hope someone can help? My Wife, daughter and I will be driving from Birmingham around Good Friday to join friends who are staying in a 4 person apartment in La Tania. One of the friends does not ski and neither does my Wife, hence the idea of meeting up. It will be the only way I get to ski this season! However. quality accommodation seems a bit limited and reports of The Montana Hotel (and others nearby) don't fill me with confidence. Happy to self cater, but pokey rooms with a sofa bed are unlikely to appeal to non-skiers. Any personal experiences/recommendations/ideas would be very welcome?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thought of a catered chalet? La Tania has lots, mainstream tour operators as well as the smaller more select ones.

Echo, self catered chalets may be your best choice, although maybe not ideal if you are planning to meet for meals etc
If so, we stayed with Snowline/VIP and couldn't fault them
or is it worth looking a bit further afield as you will have a car with you?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Colin Bell, From memory i think La Tania is a fairly 'chalet dominated' resort. I've been a few times, and IMO the best of the bunch was Alpine Action ( http://www.alpineaction.co.uk/ )

Colin Bell, I may be able to help (lots of contacts in the La Tania area), but the rental will need to be Sat-Sat. If this works for you, drop me a line either via PM here or my site below

Anniepen, thanks to you and the others for your responses. Our trip is likely now to be from Thursday to Thursday which means we're going to have few options other than the Montana Hotel. However, reports of powdered egg for breakfast worried me a little!!
