New to the forum and fairly new to skiing, off on a billy trip to Chamonix with ColdFusion. Anyone done this before and care to share their experience?

PeterGee, a friend will be staying with them next week. When he returns I'll pop back and post his comments on the experience. He's not going on a 'dating' week either. In fact, he'd be horrified to find out they advertise on dating sites. Hmmm, I wonder if I should tell him

I'm familiar with ColdFusion 5 and 7, and we're moving to Coldfusion 8 now at the request of our clients.

My friend got back yesterday from a week with Coldfusion. He stayed in the larger chalet and said it is basic but well maintained and comfortable and the food was superb! Overall, he thought he was well looked after and had a fantastic time. I'll speak to him about it tonight in more detail and will report back if I learn anything further of use.
He did mention that his shoes were constantly damp as they were not allowed to wear their shoes inside the chalet, so he left them outside on the balcony. Is this normal? Do chalets usually have a 'no shoes inside' policy?

Zero-G, you might not be allowed to "wear" them inside, but I'm sure they can't make you keep them outside? I'd have taken mine off and put them under the bed or something.

It's a nice place with a good reputation - I'm sure you'll have a great time
People tend not to wear shoes inside round here, especially in winter when they're muddy. Slippers are lovely for feet that have been in boots all day, anyway. I agree, just keep them under the bed

Chalets DO have a 'no shoes indoors' policy to keep the floors dry and clean but they should provide a shoe rack or similar in the ski/boot room which is usually heated to some level. Never heard of having to leave them actually outside

So the verdict!!
Absolutely brilliant. Just a lot of people wanting to ski and socialise. Food was excellent. Staff were even better. Accommodation was pretty good. (Shoes outside as above!)
Skiing weather was iffy. Pretty misty most of the week. Yesterday though was excellent. (Sunshine and lots of fresh snow!!)
Cold Fusion ferried us everywhere. Even to the extent of calling us off Grand Montets when they though it was closing, to get us moved to Le Tour. 10/10 without any doubt.
People wise there was a real spread in age, ability and reasons for going to Cold Fusion. Many of them have non skiing partners. There wasn't huge evidence of some kind of dating game.
So I would definitely go again.

Went with them last year and going again soon. Thought they were brilliant, they arrange to pick you up from the airport whenever you want which means you can try and get 8 days skiing in if you want (i.e. on arrival and departure day too), food was great, staff all friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and the "ferrying" mentioned above was outstanding - the guys drop you off at your lesson place or slope of your choice and are always up to speed with what is open or closed. Should also mention that they had good wine with dinner and the honesty bar is a great idea. With the £/€ exchange rate being what it is this year I most definitely will be drinking in the chalet most of the time though if you do fancy a night out in Chamonix town, the staff will gladly drive you over! Re. the no shoes policy I remember it being a bit odd at the time but didn't mind - the shoes never went missing!
