I have a season pass in Chamonix and my friend has suggested a loan when i am not in town.I do not want to risk having it pulled but a far as i can see no checks are made except at Gran Montets where they see your photo on screen.
Any Chamonix bods leand there passes out or is this a no no.

Against your T&C & I think the photos come up everywhere in the liftie booths if they are bothered checking. However I suspect it goes on. 2 Alpes seemed to have a particularly impressive random check on season pass holders so don't know if CMB does the same.

Screens at a large number of the main lifts in les arcs.. I've never been asked to 'remove my goggles' but I know of someone who got a load of gip for having an old photo on his season pass - Funnily enough the lift office had scanned his c. 10 year old passport and no he didn't look much like he did at 13 any more..

DonC, there are screens at GM cable car and chair, brevent, flegere, and le tour, the only place without is valorcine. The penalty is a fine for your friend and a possible 2 year ban for you. I know a few that do it and a few that have been caught, your call.

DonC, if you want to run the risk of your pass being confiscated, a €3000 fine each and a criminal record in France then lend it........... if not then don't... oh yes forgot to mention if they catch you then they won't sell you another season pass and strangely enough they share this data with other resorts too!!
I was told this by a friend who works for one of the lift companies so might not be true!!

marcellus, 'tis true. Resorts are tightening up on it as well - I've been checked several times this season even with a DAL pass.

I would not risk it. I have been regularly glared at by nice lifties this season and last. Yer friend is a tight ****** if he won't buy his own pass anyway

DonC, I wouldn't dream of lending my Les Arcs Pass, not been checked myself this season but been with others who have. More to the point, it wouldn't add anything to the holiday if every time you went up a lift you were worrying whether you were going to be pulled up or not.
Also, although a great number of people pass through the lifts, the lifties do get to know people from the pictures, although the pictures might not exactly look like the person e.g. with goggles. But if the person changes anything, they will be suspicious. They ain't stupid. But... if your determined to try it.. borrow your mates jacket, goggles, height, helmet (Ohhh.. is that a reason to wear one  ) etc etc, You'll then stand a better chance of getting away with it.

Not Cham, but I've been pulled for a check twice this season and so has the bogee. Both times have been in peak weeks.

I've seen them out with handheld scanning devices too this week.......... random queue... walk upto it and scan everyone!!
