Ive booked it! (See previous thread - "Please help a solo skiier") Have hooked up with another girl about my age and we are going to Val d'isere this Sunday for a week with Mark Warner. We are staying in the Val D'Isere chalet hotel, next to the Moris pub apparently, which is rather handy 
So are there any snowheads planning a trip there on 23rd Jan that would like to meet up for some serious apres-ski partying? If so leave me a message or send me a pm and we can arrange something!

Just got back from my trip to Val D Isere. Had a fantastic time but it was soo cold, minus 20 all day. Had to invest in extra thermals and a face mask but was still damn cold, especially on those chair lifts. Flew out sunday 23rd and the flight got diverted to Lyon aiport as geneva airport was closed for the first time in god knows how long because of the heavy snowfall. Arrived at the resort 8 hours late but we didnt mind too much because it meant ski conditions were pretty good, loads of fresh snow and sunny but it wasnt half cold up those mountains!
Advice to anyone flying next week - pack extra thermals in your suitcase. And pack me in there too please, i wanna go back.

I have had just the most fantastic holiday - probably the best holiday of my life, no exageration. I dont think i have laughed so much in ages....!
I ended up doing a room share with lynn, a girl i spoke to on another skiing website. We got on really well, so that was cool. she was a complete beginner so we did different ski groups and met loads of other people through that. There were loads of single travellers at the chalet hotel so we all hooked up together and they were a great bunch of people. The Moris and Dicks tea bar were my favorites and i would definately go back to val disere - i loved it.
The skiing was fabulous too, although the runs were somewhat tricky for a relative beginner like me. The first day out on the blue runs the piste was so bumpy and i was so rusty that i ended up on my bum at least ten times in the first hour!
Are you off anywhere soon?
Im intending to book up again before the season ends... not sure where how or when but i have to do it...its the law!

I am looking for someone to go skiing with late in the season and I live just down the road from you - so let me know if you are interested! Sound like you had a fab time, am very jealous! I have only been a few times before so would think we were about the same level

Funky, I am off to Courcheval 1550 on Sunday - can't wait - checking snow reports by the hour like it's really going to disappear overnight!!!!! Sad eh! Having a girlie holiday so should be fun, but already thinking about another one later in the year!
