Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

cheapest transfer from turin-risoul return.

I'm on a package deal with my daughter to risoul and have transfers incl in my holiday. A friend has expressed an interest in doing a diy to risoul to meet us for a few days and i'm trying to work out some costs.(on a budget)

Flights no problem with ryanair to turin or marseille.

hotels/chalet i'm sure will be easy enough to source as a last minute thing.

but just wondered the cheapest transfer options from either turin(1st choice) or marseille. coach/bus, private taxi/minibus, car hire?

BTW week commencing march 22nd

Any help appreciated.

I've done the same journey a couple of times and would definitely recommend hiring a car - especially if it's only going to be for a few days rather than a full week.
Re. choice of airports: strictly speaking it's obligatory to carry snowchains on the approach road up from the N94 to Risoul - just in case! But none of the car hire companies I've ever used at Marseille had chains in stock, although the approach from the south is at least usually clear of snow. Turin therefore is probably the best bet, they'll have chains available there; it's also a bit shorter distance wise, although the Col at Montgenevre is tricky when there's snow on the road - but it's a lovely drive when the road's clear/dry.
Hope this helps.

probably, but don't forget that the French are very much wedded to Sat/Sat bookings. I once failed (at 4/5pm on the day concerned) to find a bed for one person for one night, in mid January, in a resort which I knew for a fact was very quiet. Just point blank refusal (slept in the car!).
