Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les 2 Alpes wifi. What is available? And Hotel La Brunerie Differing abilities

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Will be "coming back" to Les 2 Alpes on 28th Feb. It has been a while and this time we have a computer! I've really been spoiled by arc 1950 and wonder if there is any free wifi or if not where to go for reasonable connection charge.

We are staying in the Crystal La Brunerie and wonder if there is any advice or just any general tips that any snowhead can give..... please!! The accomodation is half board.

I am going there with a friend of my wife's husband so I am trying to convince him to have lessons ( I fear we are different abilities. I am an Ok 55 year old intermeadiate with 30-40 holidays under my belt but not quite as agile as I was!) He has skied for 1 week with his daughter in La Ros (last year). a year younger than me but I think fairly fit and determined.

I must admit I enjoy crunching miles. If I cannot persuade him to go to ski school (he is not keen on the cost!) does Ski Club GB still do daily escort and (if so) is it still better to join in resort (they used to throw in a second years membership.)

Sorry for such fragmented questions.

Alun

I am not sure, but from memory think it is in square T4 of this map if that's any help. I am sure someone else will be along with more info. Easiski and Lizzard are locals, Swirly & Kristof are out there for quite a while this season: http://www.les2alpes.com/en/hiver/resort-information/resort-map/resort-map.html

Red Frog has wifi, but is miles from the Brunerie.
No SCGB reps in 2Alpes.

Yes they do....but unfortunately no longer in Les Deux Alpes. Alpe d'Huez is the closest repped resort.

Alun Williams, I don't know if Crystal offer wifi in their hotels, but there is free wifi at the tourist office, and also in many of the other hotels, so I don't see why not. There's an internet cafe almost next door to the Brunerie but I don't suppose that's free. Almost all the bars in LDA have either internet or wifi. Why would you think we don't? I have space in a class for a pretty good 1 week skier (probably only 2 peeps) if he wants. Yes - it costs, but you know he needs lessons if it's only week 2. rolling eyes A life investment - get him to look at my website. Very Happy

easiski, I will email crystal for the wifi info on the Brunerie. I have just come from the Welsh Championships in Champery and then the British Schoolgirls in Flaine and had little or no joy with reasonable price connection to internet!

I totally agree that classes are the real way forward. Indeed, if I could convince him I would enjoy (different) lessons myself - in these circumstances. Apparently, he ran ahead of the group all the time and that cheesed the remainder of the class off - quite rightly. Can you help me sell the idea to him? Perhaps you could give me an idea of cost, time of day etc. I think he believes he will gain ground because I have skied a few weeks and my children race. He needs an instructor not a parent that watches racers!
