On Monday I saw someone "riding" a pair of blades fitted with snowboard bindings/ snowboard boots ... Anyone ever seen this before???

II, did they look like they had any control? You would have to a seriously good skier to get the pressure and balance right in snowboard boots on blades and tbh I can't see the point.

yeah salomon made these in very limited numbers. a salomon trainer told me that they made them for there blade race team, but found they had too much flex for racing purposes. i managed to buy a set, the riser plates on them where huge. but i found like all snowblades they just didnt perform like a set of skiboards.
carving was amazing on them though, with that riser plate you could really crank them over onto edge

II, i had plenty of control of mine, was nice wearing soft boots aswell. i changed because of the performance difference between snowblades and skiboards. i actually had 2 sets of those blades. sold each set for more than i paid. quite rare to see them these days

II, atomic actually have a product out this season - called the poacher - which is a split board for hiking then riding the powder. but doesn't have the brick-sized riser plate.
