Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

San Cassiano Alta Badia ski storage at lifts

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Thinking of going in a month to San Cassiano (as the area looks like a good confidence builder for my nervous companion).

A walk from apartment to to lift doesn't bother me as long as without skis. I get the impression that there are lockers for hire right at the lifts, is this right and are there plenty?

Any other general views on the place? Wild night life not a priority.

Thanks

We were there new years in about 97/98. A great (and beautiful) place. Night life was quiet but 'classy'. It was a while ago so I can't remember ski storage - we yomped to and from the lifts with our kit, probably the only downside to the whole trip.

Skiing was great, the Alta Badia GS/Slalom piste isn't too far, and is a real challenge!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

chesterblade, nice choice, lots of easy blue cruising, beautiful views and close to the famous Hidden Valley run. The resort is noted for the highest concentration of Michelin star restaurants in the Alps, so if you fancy a splurge...

Sorry I can't help with the locker situation as I've never stayed there. The gondola is right at the top end of the village so most accommodation is further than you would want to walk, seem to remember Shuttle buses mentioned, so check this out also.

Skied through 4 weeks ago, looking as beautiful as ever! snowHead
